New Music on the way!

You’ve been asking and the wait is almost over! After spending the holidays in the studio, Matthew is wrapping up production on some new music. “Messed Up Kid” is a Tyler Childers collaborative cover with fellow Greenville artist, Charlie Burnett that was released on January 22, 2026.

Throughout the Winter and Spring, there will be several more releases in advance of the first album drop. Stay tuned!

Matthew rushing

Eighteen-year-old Matthew Rushing is a rising singer-songwriter from Greenville, NC, blending folk, Americana, country, and rock into a sound that is uniquely his. A musician since age six, he started on piano before teaching himself guitar, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica, often playing several in a single show. His debut song, “Carolina Heaven”, won over his community and inspired five more originals. His debut single, “Married to the Music”, is available on all streaming platforms around the world.
