Eighteen-year-old Matthew Rushing is a rising singer-songwriter from Greenville, NC, blending folk, Americana, country, and rock into a sound that is uniquely his. A musician since age six, he started on piano before teaching himself guitar, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica, often playing several in a single show. His debut song, “Carolina Heaven”, won over his community and inspired more originals. His first EP, entitled “One Man Band” has been met with critical acclaim and includes four original crowdpleasers.

In the fall of 2026, Matthew is thrilled to be joining the student body at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where he will hone his skills and improve his craft.

He is currently performing solo and with two bands: CHEF and Flipping Coins.
